The context
Why the work mattered.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the NHS, care homes and local authorities needed to work together at speed. Reliable testing capacity and data integration were essential to providing consistent care and support to the public.

The programme needed a sustainable strategy for maintaining testing capacity across four sites.
Laboratories, suppliers and government departments had to coordinate in a complex and sensitive environment where both process design and human factors mattered.

Worked closely with laboratory directors and stakeholders through interviews, meetings, calls and working discussions.
Structured the programme around four stages: Discover, Design, Deliver and Deploy.
Applied delivery experience in complex environments while accounting for operational processes and the sensitivity of the people involved.

Material risk reduction
Reduced the number of critical programme risks and issues from 20 to one.
Greater control
Eight remaining items were brought under control and classified amber.
Delivery confidence
Eleven items were moved to on-track status.
Sustainable coordination
Created a clearer route for laboratories, suppliers and government teams to work together.
